G4, M5 and F7 are labels from the older EN 779 standard. ISO 16890 uses classifications including ISO Coarse, ePM10, ePM2.5 and ePM1, alongside a percentage describing tested filtration performance. The two standards use different test methods, so there is no exact universal conversion.

Read the ISO classification for the specific filter you are buying. For example, an ePM1 percentage describes performance against the standard’s PM1 particle fraction; it is not a promise to remove that percentage of every airborne pollutant in your home.

Supply and extract filters have different jobs

The supply air filter treats incoming outdoor air before it reaches the living spaces. The extract air filter captures particles in air drawn from the home before that air passes through the unit. Both contribute to protecting the ventilation equipment.
